Skerry doesn't track you. It has no analytics, no advertising and no Skerry server. To show conditions, it sends only the location you're asking about to the official data providers — never your own position, and never anything that identifies you.
Skerry doesn't track you
Skerry has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and no third-party SDKs. Where location is used, it's only ever at your request — you tap a button, it finds your spot, and that's it. Skerry never watches where you go in the background. (Today you add places by searching, tapping the map, or pasting coordinates; this version doesn't ask for location permission at all.)
What leaves your device
To show conditions for a place, Skerry sends the coordinates of the place you're looking up — never your own position — to the organisations that publish the data: the Environment Agency's real-time API (flood warnings, river and sea levels), Apple Weather (weather), and Open-Meteo (sea state). For storm-overflow status it queries Esri's ArcGIS Online, which hosts the Water UK / Stream data for the nine English water companies. Bathing-water ratings don't send your coordinates at all — Skerry finds the nearest designated beach on your device from a list built into the app, then asks the Environment Agency about that beach by its ID. None of these requests carry an account, user ID, device identifier, name, email or advertising identifier. There is no Skerry server, and none of it ever reaches Kalmaro.
What stays on your device
The places you save and your preferences are stored on your device. If you use iCloud, they sync through your own private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit). That is your storage — Kalmaro has no access to it.
Maps
The map is Apple Maps (MapKit). When you view the map or add a place, that interaction is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy — it doesn't come to Kalmaro.
Notifications
If you opt in, Skerry can check one chosen saved place in the background and notify you when the Environment Agency issues or escalates a flood warning there. These are local notifications generated on your device — there is no push server, and Skerry never registers for remote notifications. Declining changes nothing else in the app.
‘Data Not Collected’
