Tare has no servers, so nothing you record is ever sent to Kalmaro. Your measurements, photos and health data stay on your device and in your own private iCloud — Kalmaro has no access to them. The app has no analytics, tracking, advertising or third-party SDKs.
No tracking, no analytics, no third-party code
Tare contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting services, and no third-party software libraries of any kind — it is built entirely on Apple’s own frameworks. There is no identifier Kalmaro could use to track you across apps or websites, and the app doesn’t ask for one; this is why its App Store privacy label says ‘No Data Collected’. The app talks to Apple’s iCloud to sync your own data and run competitions, and to the App Store to handle purchases. The only other request it makes is a check with the App Store for whether a newer version exists, so Settings can show an “Update” badge — that check contains nothing about you, just the app’s public App Store identifier. Nothing is ever sent to Kalmaro.
Where your data lives
Everything you record is stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud account, using Apple’s CloudKit. That is your iCloud — Kalmaro has no access to it.
Apple Health
If you turn it on, Tare reads and writes your weight, body-fat percentage, waist circumference, BMI and lean body mass to Apple Health, and reads your date of birth, biological sex and height to help set up your profile. Health data stays between your device and your own Health app and iCloud; it is never sent to Kalmaro and is never used for advertising. Sync is off by default, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings or the Health app.
Competing with friends
When you invite people to a competition, it is shared directly between your devices using Apple’s iCloud sharing — it never passes through a Kalmaro server, and Kalmaro can’t see it. Shared with the others in the competition: your name and profile photo (if you’ve set them), and, for the metric you’re competing on, your starting value and your current value. Those real values are shared in every competition type, because the scores are worked out on each person’s device. What the leaderboard shows is a separate matter: by default it shows only how much you’ve changed — for example ‘−1.2 kg’ — not your actual measurement. Some types (including several of the ‘Fairest Picks’ quick-starts) rank by and display your actual reading instead; the app tells you which kind you’re choosing when you create a competition, and warns you before you join one. If you’d rather not share a measurement with a particular group, don’t enter a competition on that metric with them. You’re identified only by an opaque identifier that iCloud generates for this app — never your Apple ID, email address or phone number.
Contacts
When you invite a friend, contact search happens entirely on your device. Your contacts are never uploaded. Only the single phone number or email address you pick is sent to Apple’s iCloud, in order to invite that person.
Photos
Progress photos are stored on your device and in your own private iCloud. Tare can only add photos to your library — for example when you export a picture — and cannot read your existing photo library. Photos are never uploaded to Kalmaro.
Apple Watch
If you use the Apple Watch companion, values you log move between the watch and your paired iPhone over Apple’s direct device-to-device link (WatchConnectivity). That stays between your own devices — there is no network request and no server involved.
Purchases
Tare Pro is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, all handled entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Kalmaro never sees or receives your payment details — the app is only told whether an active purchase exists.

If you email Kalmaro for support, that message and its contents are kept only in order to reply to you.
‘No Data Collected’
